It is advisable that any Business wishing thermographic scanning services, use an independent external professional Accredited Non-Destructive testing company, particularly if it is an insurance requirement. An in-house thermal scan and report may be challenged in the event of a claim. Some  reasons are noted below.

• Any one conducting thermographic infra-red scanning services must be accredited by the appropriate international accreditation bodies. Although accreditation is required, it is not necessarily sufficient to satisfy insurance claims.
• Report writing is an additional component to thermography, and has minimum experience and additional certification requirements.
• In any end-to-end high risk service the ultimate test is "will it stand up in court"?
• Iris have level 3 accredited Subject Matter Experts (SME's) who are recognised by the courts as specialists in their field.
• All IRIS reports are backed by our SME's, IRIS experts have been called upon by the courts in disputed claims. Expert testimony can provide powerful legal support for clients engaged in disputes.

Like most service related work, there are things that make everyone's life that little bit easier. The following process will contribute to making things that little bit more efficient and effective.

Electrical service work can be extremely hazardous, this is why there are rules and regulations to be followed when engaging in such work.

• All switchboards and distribution boards require to have clear and easy access (this is required primarily for the safety of those working with and in the vicinity of live electrical services).
• If possible a marked location plan of where any electrical distribution boards/services are (as this reduces nuisance time and disruption of staff when attending to requests for information).
• Where practical have any keys that maybe required, made available for the thermologist, This will enable them to conduct their service without costly interruption. By providing access keys/swipe cards etc. for entry to risers, electrical cupboards, plantrooms, lift motor rooms and if necessary roof access.
